ok, here is what I have found with my Touch. My carrier is Cellular South which has released no rom to the public to restore from. I searched high and low and asked many questions (thanks for the answers Dette and jmitr) and from what I have found the carrier customizations on mine were 3 cab files which are in the windows folder. When the rom runs the first time there is an .exe in the startup folder that tells the cabs to run and then deletes itself. I hard reset my phone before upgrading and wrote down the .cabs that ran and searched thru my phone and found the files. (in the windows folder) I copied these to my sd card and went thru the steps to unlock with coke 2.31, ran the bell rom to upgrade the radio and reset to prevent the bell carrier settings from running, upgraded to omj's m2d rom and after it finished i ran these 3 cabs from my card to do my carrier settings and all seems to work fine. I am on my 3rd day of running the rom without a problem. I hope this helps some of the other non-major carrier users with customizing.
