Re: HTC USING nVidia Tegra processor for future devices

Like a PP mentioned, the Tegra has to be paired with the Ericsson EMP chip or a Qualcomm equivalent due to the fact that Tegra doesn't have a radio built-in, i.e. GSM/GPS/EDGE. My concern is that Ericsson is a GSM platform whereas Qualcomm deals with CDMA. Not a problem if you're on AT&T and TMO, but on I'm Sprint, and I've had enough of Qualcomm crap, so unless someone knows that Ericsson deals in both CDMA and GSM (which I don't think they do) I'm worried Sprint/Verizon won't be getting a version of the next "stone."

Does that make any sense? My thoughts are the Firestone is the GSM version and the Whitestone is for CDMA. So who makes the radio for CDMA if Tegra is onboard? I don't suppose anyone can answer that yet. Anyway, if you look on nVidia's website they clearly state that handsets with the Tegra chip will start shipping mid-2009. I look for both aforementioned models to hit shelves 2H09 or 3Q -- August/September/October.
