I just ordered one off ebay I'm going to reactivate my verizon contract with a non-gimped phone hopefully... I see lots of info related to sprint version on verizon but nothing specifically for Alltel... I would imagine the PRL & PRI stuff is different so I wasn't quite sure what my steps would be.

Apologies if this is posted somewhere... couldn't find anything in search.

Thanks!
I am running the Alltel Pro on Verizon.

The process is pretty much the same with few differences.

You won't have to worry about the MSL, its already 000000 just like vzw uses.

If you want to get rid of the roaming triangle then the best (permanent) solution is to hit all 3 important areas. PRI, PRL, and ERI

You will of course already be loading the PRL so you can get the phone activated with *228 option 3.

Load the verizon PRI.

Load the verizon ERI.

Do all those and you will be able to use the natural, unaltered PRL straight from vzw (so you can update OTA with *228 and not have to worry). Also your ERI banner will work properly displaying "Verizon Wireless" or "Extended Network" just as any native vzw phone would.

One note of caution: Get all the modding done BEFORE you get the phone on your account (with *228 ) one thing I have noticed is that doing *228 option 1 will kill the keys needed for data service along with reverting the dun setting to MDN@alltel.com (instead of MDN@vzw3g.com) though *228 option 2 (to update PRL only) should be fine.

If you kill your data connection (easy to do when messing with ROMS in this case) you will have to either have tech support reset your DMU (not something you dont want to do a lot) or swap another ESN on to your account then put your Touch Pro back on.

Hope this helps!

PS. I'm still expirementing with some things and might be writing up a post on my experiences with converting my Alltel phone once I figure out some more stuff.
