Had thought about splicing a mic like this, but was worried about echo in voice calls. Have you been on the phone while driving yet? Do people seem to think it's to echoey or that there's too much road noise on their end?

Nice work, btw!"

I just got back from vacation. A 700 mile drive 1400 round trip. I used my phone as the only source for music and gps. I talked on the phone thru my handsfree setup for over 3 hours total during the trip and I did not have any complaints about feedback or echo, I only had the volume up loud enough to hear the person on the other end.

I used the cd-ipbus input found on almost all pioneer head units there was a schemeatic i found on google "pioneer cd player pinout" http://stereophonik.com/gutterslide/IP-BUS_Hack/ that i used to get the audio into my deck. I hacked up the connector that came with the mogul the usb/ mini 2.5mm jack splitter thru help from here and trial and error i got what I was looking for and it cost me only stuff i already had laying around and some spare time.

I posted the schematic of the usb connector/2.5mm jack's wires and what they go to color coded a few posts up.
