This is really simple using a registry editor:
HKLM/System/State/Phone --> Change "Current Operator Name" to whatever you want

This gets reset back to
Sprint every time you turn the phone off, then back on.
Hence the name "State"- apparently this section gets overwritten by the operating system whenever state changes on various items...
