I too am running the sock rom on mine. I just slide the keyboard out to allow the phone to cool faster.
As Darren says there's plenty of good reasons to flash a new rom. I've already downloaded Conflipper's, Juggalo's & GC14(xda-dev) ROMs but haven't flashed any yet. Report back if you decide to do it & it helps.
