Re: Help: Getting files off a phone

you shouldnt need to see the phone screen. turn on the phone. give it five minutes to boot up (shouldnt take that long but you will be booted by then for sure). be sure your pc is fired up. then use a usb tether. the phone usb connection is a universal one so if you dont have the y cord that came with the phone you can find the usb anywhere (it probably has a name like usb a or something) i call it a miniusb. that connects your usb phone to the pc.

in xp activesync will pick up the phone automatically. and you can then browse the phone files and take off all you want to the pc use the "eplore" menu in activesync on top). in vista you may have to use the microsoft mobile software (its free also) and it may ask you to set up a connection or connect without setting it up, do the connect with out settings, and then hit the "browse files" menu. absent activesync or msmobile, the pc may pick the phone t up automatically as a new drive.

its really simple.
