weatherpanel is a different animal i fear: even tho the update arrows are not red (indicating updating??), i have seen posts either here or xda that found WP was the problem. i think the user had SPB wireless or something and it pointed to WP being the source of the mystery data connection...

Im not too sure as I just use the standard HTC Home Weather tab, and I have it to manually update. Cant you set up the weather panel to manually update as well?
