It shouldn't get any hotter than the 6700, unless there is a problem. It's only got a
slightly faster CPU, which should be more advanced, consume less power, run cooler, and scale down when not being used to it's fullest extent...

You can dial just fine with gloves on. The only controls that are capacitive are the botton ones. You can use the screen all you want. Last I checked, you can use the center/ok button with a glove. So, if you are typing a number, just hit the ok button and it dials. If you are finding it through call history, or through contacts, then obviously you don't need the capacitive send/end keys.
