It's not really all that much data. Some programs are posted over at XDA that can be used to measure car performance. It's all about the sampling rate which I think was pretty high. Look at the game Tilt that came with our phones. The ball reacts pretty quickly.

Sure the accelerometer is fast, I am talking about downloading street view maps, I am not sure that the TP can download that data process it for display fast enough, unless it caches a bunch of streetview data before letting you flip the phone around to change views... I am talking about LAG from downloading the images...
