The HTC dialer is really nice, but it also delays the incoming call ring quite a bit (two to three rings is not uncommon) also.

The stock WM dialer is just too ugly IMHO.....

You're correct, it will not dial the ## codes (it also shuts off the screen during a call etc) so when I need to do that, I use Advanced config to temporarily swap back to the HTC dialer.
