BFD, you're talking semantics here (to most people it's the same thing).

All HTC had to do was include a MF option & we wouldn't be having this discussion. If you could switch to MF when you wanted, it would snap a picture in a fraction of the time it does now.

My wife's two year old flip phone can take about three pics in the time it takes the TP to AF & shoot one........
