I just wanted to touch on this for a second. This is a lot like Windows, vs. OS X, vs. Gnu/Linux.

All can be used to get the job done. What people are "into" generally decides what people will choose. MANY choose Gnu/Linux not because its user friendly, or usable out of the box, but because they can customize and tinker and make it what they want. Others choose OS X because it is very attractive and user friendly. Then there are those that choose Windows because it offers a compromise of both, and there is a lot of software support. I think that is very similar to the discussion here.
