Right, because Sprint phones (and pretty much all other carriers except VZW) do splitting if necessary on the phone itself... This was most evident with my Helio Ocean because if you typed a multi-part message, you could watch it send each individual part of 160 characters. VZW phones use EMS for long messages instead of having the message split on the phone and sent as multiple texts.
