J/K! There's no suppossed way to gauge the TP. Some phone's get hotter than others and it depends on how many and what programs you are running. Running gps and opera at the same time will in fact make it run hot. Some programs make it so hot so you can cook mini burgers on the back and some you'll never notice any heat. My TP only gets warm (kinda like a hand warmer) at times also but it is normal and nothing to worry about.
