I fear you're a bit misinformed.

Anyway, it's a mini USB, micro USB is smaller even... to be technical, it's a Mini-B (while the standard, full-size connector is called A)... but it's just commonly called USB mini.

I bought a car charger on ebay for a razr for $3 and some change shipped, works fantastic, gives the phone 1000mah even though it says it's only rated for 500mah. I wouldn't worry too much about overcharging your battery as the actual management of charging happens in the phone's hardware, not the charger.
