PDAPhoneJunkie is correct, older PPCs do not require data plans! I asked in the store the second I learned about this new policy because I wanted to setup and give my Daughter my 700wx to use, but didn't want to waste money on a data plan for her. They told me right then that older devices do not need data plans, only the devices released since the Samsing Saga.
