I actually did something like this out of sheer boredom and curiosity, although I reversed it once it proved to work, I swapped the esn of my moto q (the active phone) to a qwest apache, voice and text worked, internet didn't and I didn't feel like messing with it to much so I reversed everything back. Feel free to PM me if this sounds like what you are trying to do.
I had to track down the driver, get spst, bitpim, se47, hex editor, then using spst copy \nvm\$ESN.SYS, edit, do some math, look in a mirror, save, restart. ESN is now swapped, then program your other info in and it works. I still have everything I used, so lazy on clean ups.
Actually, I know a much faster way now, trial and error lol
