Re: using build os ?

A ROM is made up of multiple parts ...

Stated simply ...

The BL/SPL (Boot Loader) [usually maintained separately and not part of a ROM]
The SYS/OS &
The XIP &
The OEMs &
The Radio [usually maintained separately and not part of a typical ROM]

BuildOS facilitates taking ROM elements (SYS/OS/XIP/OEMs) and combining them into a file that can be flashed to your phone / pocket pc.

I use the term facilitate, because as important as BuildOS may be, it cannot do much until a chef puts together the SYS/OS/XIP/OEM components to be pieced together. All of these items together are typically called a KITCHEN.

So, to build a ROM for your device, you need to find or make a KITCHEN for your device.

You'll want to go to the Diamond Upgrade section (GSM or CDMA) depending on your provider/phone ... and read some more.

Best regards,
