No, not necessarily. The reason you would force roam would be because you have a weak signal which is already causing your battery to drain more. If you force roam, and you notice more bars, then you will get better battery life. Keep in mind this will only help with voice calls. Data roaming agreements typicallly only allow 1x data connection (at least Sprint does) so you data will be slow.
