LOL, I just went & tried this again to make sure I hadn't missed something.

When I turn off the shutter sound, that is exactly what it does -(it turns off the sound period). At least in my TouchPro anyway, turning off the shutter sound does not affect the auto-focus function in any way at all (nor should it)
