Running 3.5a and I think I also had this issue on 3.6 for the brief time I had it on my phone.
It seems like I have two battery Icons. One is the OEM that I selected in the kitchen and another one that is a little smaller to the right that shows the %.
Problem is that it seems that this second battery monitor is fighting for taskbar space with the task manager drop down menu that I enabled. Whenever I try to open the menu it just quickly opens and closes, and I see the % battery monitor pop in the spot of the task manager for a moment.
I thought this would be corrected if I didn't add HTC battery monitor in the kitchen, but it still happends. I don't get it
