When you connect his phone to the computer be sure to choose "active sync' if you use the "disk drive"option you lose the common directory (internal storage)... However, diskdrive mode is faster transfer so you can alternately move all the files into my documents or even its own collective folder (make a folder on pc and put all files you want moved into it) then drag over. Now, disconnect the phone from pc and use the file explorer to move that collective folder to the Internal Storage (which shows back up again)..

Least confusing is active sync mode, fastest transfer is disk drive mode.
