ya I think your right the internal antenna is no longer functional.
After a bit more searching I found that this is very common
(wish I would have read up on it first)
I took a 4" piece of wire and plugged it into the external antenna port,
now I get a signal.
what confused me is that the WiFi works perfectly without the wire.
People, DO NOT PLUG IN AN EXTERNAL ANTENNA ON THE PPC-6700 it will more that likely screw up your internal antenna.
