I think I am experiencing the ring delay issue that others have mentioned, but I cannot seem to find a good fix for that either.

1. You have to go to your voicemail box and mark the message as read (9) or delete it (7)
If it still sticks, go to Start>Settings>Phone>Clear Voicemail Icon

2. This is controlled by the network. I don't think there's a way to change it.
