A couple of hours ago I knew nothing about PPC. I decided to get a Sprint HTC Diamond a couple of days ago because I like the company, I like the design, and I really needed a new phone.

The phone arrived today. Following the advice on several forums, I unlocked the phone and flashed the ROM to Juicy. It was easy, there were very clear instructions.

Now I'm venturing further out, and I've got some basic questions that I can't seem to find answers for. The foremost is how do I install CAB files onto the phone? I'm running vista, do I need to use Windows Mobile Device Center? Can I copy it to the removable disk and run it from there? Do I need to browse the web from the phone and install from there? People provide CAB files, but no instructions on how to use them.

Also, is there a way to update the ROM without wiping everything off the phone? Or can you backup everything and just sync it after the update?

If there's a FAQ that answers these and other basic questions, please let me know cause I've been looking. Thanks!!
