One of the programs you are trying to run might require .net version 3.5 and I am not sure that comes standard on the stock sprint rom.
Please reread the unlocking thread again and go very very slowly. If your phone is not able to sync up using active sync then you won't be able to flash either. It's not enough to hear the familiar ding of the USB being detected. Thats not a true sync.
Your phone should be no different then anyone elses from Sprint so it MUST be something you are doing..or something your computer is NOT doing. Check your active sync setting on your phone and deselect enable advanced network functionality if it's enabled.
