Vista uses Mobile Device Center instead of ActiveSync. You can download the latest version
HERE.
No, these files don't go on your phone.
Get them onto your computer and connect your phone via a USB cable to your computer. If you haven't set up the Mobile Device Center yet, go ahead and do it. This will back up your contacts, calendar, notes, etc.
When your phone is done syncing, run the IMCokeMan unlocker from your PC. This will replace your phone's stock bootloader with a new one. Your phone should reset after it is finished.
Let your phone connect to the Mobile Device Center again and then put the phone into bootloader mode. To do this press Camera+Power and then use the stylus to press the reset button on the bottom of the phone. You should now be in bootloader mode with a Red, Blue, Green screen.
Next run the Custom ROM EXE from your PC. After it is finished your phone should once again reset.
If all went well you are done.
