Well it all depends. Best buy probably has a lot of tp's, so if you tried to replace your phone as soon as a hardware update comes out in newer models, you might end up just getting an older model. With Sprint being in a horrible financial situation, they are ordering as many as they know they can sell, so getting the warrenty though sprint for 7 bucks a month might end up giving you a better chance at a "fresher" phone.
I had a little wiggle with my screen, but I solved it with some black tape on the underside of the screen opposite to the keyboard. There's no gap between the keyboard and screen now, but I can still make the screen go back and forth if I press it hard enough. I've handled two touch pro's so far, and both had this wiggle, but the other didn't have a gap between the kb and screen.
