Re: fm radio WAS working..grrr

ok well I talked to the mobipcs guy again today who setup my phone. the guy IS a member here so I'm suprised he hasn't jumped in.
Anyway I think the ROM pack he used must of actually been from a GSM model...which would explain why some of the other stuff did NOT work. There is a cab file running around that supposely enabled the FM stero and app on the ATT models. Again untill I have the file from him we won't know for sure - but hey guys I tell ya - FM radio WAS workng. It made me plug in the wired headset (said it used it as an attena) - and so I tried it and it worked just fine. Soo whatever Spint has done to disable it has to be software and/or drivers not hardware.
At the point, this is my plan: I'm going to have MobiPCS do one of two things. A) they can just replace my phone that is jacked up with an untouched one so I can use it on Sprint or B) if they will sell me a new untouched one for 300 bucks, I'll keep the old one too IF they guy can actually get it 100% functional on their network. The bogus part of all that is that they guy claims the unit can only get 1x on their network so if you ask me that kind of makes the thing rather useless to begin with. But...if I have both of them sitting in front of me my gut tells me I can fix the first one myself...and if not I will simply take it to verizon and see if they can get it on their network. If not I will just leave it on MObiPCS putzing along at 1x and maybe in the future they can get it on their evdo rev a network. A real shame too - I like all the people I've met that work for MobiPCS..but hey they sold me an 800 phone that doesn't work and has a voided warrenty and replacement. I was looking forward to being on a 'little guy' network but I guess it's just not going to pan out.
