What 3rd party apps and hacks/tweaks have you done to it? Is all this happening to your completely stock, untouched 800w? If it is untouched then you should take it back and get a new one. If you have a lot of stuff installed with tweaks and whatnot then backup, hard reset and begin install things one by one until you find the culprit.

Text input is way easier on the 800w. Not a fingerprint magnet. Fast.
The Diamond is a good phone its just very different than the 800w; intended for very different uses. If you're really considering it I'd try to makes friends with someone that has one and borrow it for a bit. Or just camp out in the Sprint store for several hours until your familiar with it.
