Re: Total Equipment Protection

I don't have TEP, I have ESRP (equipment service and repair program). ESRP costs $4 a month and covers almost everything the TEP covers minus if the phone gets lost, stolen, or water damaged. I've been through 3 Treos using the ESRP program to fix a bad charging port.

From Sprint's site:
"Provides coverage for mechanical or electrical failure, routine maintenance or failure from normal wear and tear."

So in theory, if anything goes wrong with my phone, I may be able to get a replacement. One possible use of ESRP (although I don't condone it, but Sprint does leave this open) is to get new phones. For example, you've got a Touch and want a Diamond or Touch Pro. Knowing that the Touch isn't carried by the store, you break the charging port, take it in for a replacement, and since they don't have anymore Touchs, they have to give you something to compensate.
