good, i'm glad i'm not experiencing something weird.
i started noticing it after i had problems getting activesync to link up with my phone... i did the uncheck advanced networking trick and got it back working... and that's when i started noticing the connection dialog soon after... i guess i don't have a reason to worry anymore, but could this be a reason?
