I actually figured out the answer to my own issue.

The problem occurs in the saving of a JPEG image - especially in Photoshop.

In Photoshop, the default save option for JPEG images is Progressive. This is what causes the issue, you want it to be Baseline ("Standard").

When saving an image (File>Save As), choose the folder that you want to save your picture. The next pop up that comes up, after selecting the folder you want it in, is called JPEG Options. In it, there are three radio buttons in the center. Choose the one that says "Baseline ("Standard")" and you should be set.
