Well this stinks...I have never been able to get my phone to turn off the screen when I place a call. I have Advanced Configuration and adjusted to the settings mentioned by lexluthor above. It was never "disabled". Still no joy. I'm also wondering about the auto light-adjusting. How does this work? Can you literally put your hand over the sensor to cover it and the screen gets brighter? IF so I haven't seen that on mine. I have the setting to "auto adjust backlight" (always have since I got the phone).
