basically i'm just an idiot...and didnt fully read the instructions on that page from ATEKsoft (

look at #5 at the bottom in the instructions on "How to use as Web camera".
to get to the webcam function use the joystic and push it to the right or left till you get "webcam" instead of photo or one of the other options like video. hit the shutter option and there you go...instant webcam from the 6700, NICE!!!
