FYI - I haven't dyed my phone, but from fabric / clothes dyeing experience, unless it's a dark enough dye, it'll pick up whatever color you're dyeing over. Example: blue dye over red would come out some shade of purple. Light shades of dyes won't work at all, unless it changes it to some off shade of red that it already is. You can dye over white or light colors, but only a white background will give out the color of the dye that you're using. Black dye, if you do it long enough, will cover the red. If it's not long enough, it'll probably come out a darker shade iof red or maroon. Not sure how the navy blue would come out - it might be dark enough to cover the red, but maybe not.

To all of you who dyed your phone black, it looks really good - seems a lot better than all the trouble of painting.
