Are you saying that you slide out for every text message? That's just annoying. Especially for something like "alright," or "okay." If you use the hardware kb, you end up spending about twice as much time.
Even if I didn't use the on-screen SIP, I'm still pissed that the phone doesn't work as it should. You can defend the phone all you want, but it doesn't work as it SHOULD... that's the big deal, for me.
