If you're phone is failing PPP authentication I'd call up tech support and ask them to do a PDSN trace.
PPP auth takes place between the MN (mobile node) and the PDSN. Once at the PDSN the request continues to a AAA (Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting) server. Within the AAA there are directory servers that interface with billing and a host of other systems that sets and confirms your session profile (COS, MIP, SIP, and other billing info such as cost and rate plan). If all is well you will be authorized - if not you'll fail to connect.
By running a PDSN trace they should be able to see the access reject message and give you more info.
