But if I don't allow them to run then I can use the aGPS fix from XDA-developers to enable the GPS. But what are the other benefits and drawbacks of allowing the customizations to run versus not allowing them to run? Right now I'm leaning toward allowing them to run and using the Valhalla GPS server because I assume this would be a more stable "stock" configuration. Is this correct? Is there other stuff I'm going to miss out on if I allow the customizations to run?

Sorry if this is a noob question - this is all new stuff for me and there is a ton of info to absorb.

Thanks!
First of all nothing is a noob question, especially in this thread where different people have been getting different results.

Now onto your question. As one who has let the customizations run I can tell you that it has changed the hardware setup in some way, so that the GPS now is showing on COM5 in the QPST diag but apps still see on COM4. Not sure how that happened and why it has happened. I am still struggling with getting to some stable predictable base.

My suggestion to you is to stay away from this leaked ROM unless you absolutely want to experiment. It is quite stable, fast, and battery life is really good, but I am not sure if newbies want all this furstration.
