I have to agree with the Holux GPSlim 236. I love it, I can use it with my laptop or phone depending on the level of detail that is needed.

I think they have recently or will soon have a replacement for the 236 with even longer battery life. Right now it gets 6-7 hours plus acquires signal faster than any other GPS I've used civilian or military other than a back pack mounted trimble.
