Well, you need to determine if it is a hardware issue or a software issue. First, uninstall any software that you have loaded recently to see if that solves the conflict. Second, do a hard reset/load your official carrier rom if you are using a custom rom. With the official rom on the phone, everything should work fine. If the joystick still does not function, then you probably have a hardware issue. There are many posts here in the forum about broken joysticks. You will probably need to take it in to get it fixed/replaced.
