The apache is not meant to be turned "on/off" in the conventional sense with the power button up top. That is just the power for the LCD screen. If your ROM is cluttered with stuff taking up unnecessary CPU cycles, then that may be the cause of the slow down. Open up task manager to see that all the processes you have open are necessary. Then check your build to make sure you don't have extra stuff you don't need.

Also, I read this from some of the more senior members, the Apache does not handle CAB installs well. The program itself may run ok, but it will slow down the apache a lot.

The last solution is to just set it to not turn the LCD off. It will be a major drain on your battery, but at least you won't have the lag.
