Looks like I have the newest now. 11/7/08.

Pile of crap.

-Build quality is unbelievably bad. The buttons barely work. The phone squeaks/creaks, and the two halves of the phone smack together when you use the screen.
-Heats up hotter than hell. I recorded 128F/53C on a 15 minute phone call today. My hand started to get VERY uncomfortable.
-Laggy too. Software is really slow, compared to my original Touch. TF3D is no where near as zippy as the Diamond I have on my desk at home.

The only upside is that the screen is SLIGHTLY more responsive at the edges/corners. I say slightly, because it's still inexcusably-bad.

Sounds like we are screwed. There is absolutely no hope in getting a half-way decent TP, it seems.
