You are not alone! I've been having the same issue: phone will light up with an incoming call, but device won't respond to the 'answer' soft key or the green phone button to pick up. Seems like an off and on problem for me. Didn't think about it being a problem with the tone. I'll try changing that up too and seeing if it works.
