I'm sure this has been discussed but it won't allow me to search words '1x' and 'off'.

Does switching to 1x save battery life? I would assume so.

Is there a way to assign button to make this switch? (If it indeed helps battery life).

I installed Diamond Tweak but thought that if there was a way to take phone off of EVDO and on 1X when I'm at work, I could save some juice.
