I found one that is supposed to turn off the light sensor altogether

HKCU\ControlPanel\Backlight\AutoSensor = 0(DWORD decimal) will disable the light sensor

But it didn't work. If it would turn the screen back on when you move the phone away from your head it wouldn't be so bad, but having to press the power button to turn it back on is annoying.
