well you should definitely upgrade to a custom rom. im running dcd's 3.3.4 with m2d, but nuerom runs great also. flash a rom before you roll back the pri, and i also recommend flashing radio 3.42.50. i get the best reception with it, but its all preference.
if your agps does not work after you upgrade, then roll back the pri. i updated my pri after flashing a custom rom, and ive seen some improved reception with it.
