It comes down to more RAM and GPS. Good specs but not crushing.
After using the Titan for a couple of months I can honestly say it stands up on its own merits pretty well.

I guess it comes down to semantics. "Crush" versus "better". I can live with that!
And just so we're clear, I do appreciate the lively debate. It was acutally a debate I first had with myself when I made the decision to jump the Sprint ship after the 6800 delay was announced.
I think much of this debate comes down to what each of is looking for in a PDA Phone. When the 6800 was announced, I was really excited, even though it seemed to be an incremental upgrade over the 6700. Once Sprint announced the delay and it was supposedly October, I began to investigate other alternatives. And that's when I realized there was a whole world that I didn't even know about. After my initial research, I made a list of priorities for features in the next phone:
1. Quad Band
2. WM6
3. VGA Screen
4. On-Board GPS
5. 802.11g WiFi
6. QWERTY
Of course, this feature set is available in one phone right now (HTC Advantage) and that's just way too big. The HTC Universal also fits most of the criteria, but it lacks the GSM 850 band that is now prevalent in the US. More phones are on the way that will offer all of these features, but availability will be tough and the phones pricey, at least at first.
Needing a phone quickly (the 6700 died) and not wanting to take a Treo as an exchange from Sprint, I signed up with Cingular and bought an M700 for the short term. It met all of the above qualifications except VGA. Turned out to be a nice phone to look at, but it had all kinds of software bugs, and it was not 3G-enabled, so data was at dialup

speeds. I then had to re-prioritize, at least for the short-term, and that's how I wound up with the Trinity: I gave up the keyboard and did without VGA. In return, I got a fairly clean WM6 installation from XDA-Developers, as well as 802.11g and 3G broadband. Ahh, the trade-offs!
Anyway, the next feature I need to have is a VGA screen. I've seen one first hand on a Universal, and there's just no comparison. I just don't understand why we don't get on devices here! I'll say one thing, the moment a US CDMA provider offers a VGA phone with a slider, I'll be first in line to make the jump.
Sorry to ramble on, but I wanted to share with you my reasoning for my original statements.
I look forward to more debate!
