UPDATE: Just called the Technical Director and he told me that on Friday they had a meeting about this with the tower engineers and identified that they need to apply some firmware patches to the towers for Rev.A to work correctly on Diamonds and Touch Pros. This update will also give a small improvement in available bandwidth and connection reliability on current functioning Rev.A devices.
He couldn't specify on when the updates will be finished but they already started to update their towers today. So thats some definitive good news. Now its just a matter of holding tight and once they finish the updates, reenabling Rev.A on our phones.
EDIT: Oh and they definitely DO NOT rent tower space from any carrier, the towers they use are strictly Sprint's towers and they use them for cellular and wide area wireless service that they use to interconnect networking junction points instead of using or renting fiber optics.
